mortgage Burning
March 11th, 2018 marked a milestone in the life of Davis Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church. The congregation came together along with a host of friends to celebrate the burning of our mortgage. People came from near and far to collectively celebrate what the Lord had done for Davis Memorial. Our Bishop, The Right Reverend John Franklin White was our preacher. Our Presiding Elder, Rev. Samuel L. Sumner was in attendance along with a host of clergy friends from various faith traditions. The Gary Area AME Alliance choir prepared the atmosphere for the preaching and the Davis choir blessed us in song as the papers burned…… “He has done marvelous things. Praise the Lord! Our purpose was to celebrate and encourage all those who were in attendance. What God has done for one he will do for another. Thanks to the Davis Memorial AME Family for staying the course and a job well done.
